2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve the app:

• To display your profile and library card to you and other community members
• To manage book listings, checkout requests, and loan tracking
• To facilitate messaging between members
• To calculate member ratings and badges based on lending activity
• To send in-app notifications about your book requests and loans

We do not use your information for advertising, do not sell your data to third parties, and do not use it for any purpose beyond operating this service.

3. Information Shared With Others

My Community Library is a community app — some of your information is visible to other members by design:

• Your display name, profile photo, bio, and badges are visible on your public member profile.
• Books you add to the library are visible to members of your groups.
• Reviews you write are publicly visible on book and member profiles.
• Direct messages are only visible to you and the member you are messaging.

We do not share your information with any third-party companies, advertisers, or data brokers.

4. Authentication Providers

Sign-in is handled by Replit (OIDC) or Google OAuth. When you sign in, these services share your basic profile information (name and profile photo) with our app. Their own privacy policies govern how they handle your data:

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Replit's infrastructure. Session tokens are stored locally on your device using encrypted secure storage. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Book listings, reviews, and messages remain in the system to maintain community history. If you would like your data deleted, please contact us using the information below and we will process your request within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

My Community Library is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict certain uses of your data
